To be honest, both parties have strayed pretty far from their original ideology of anti-caste, anti-Brahmin and pro-social justice. 

The DMK is a little closer but it is definitely not as radical as the OG teachings that Periyar espoused, and the anti-Brahmin sentiments have slowly faded away from the mainstream dialogues of the party due to the massive popularity of Jayalalitha, from Brahmins leaving the state and being phased out from top bureaucratic positions(in TN), and from the fact that 99% of caste atrocities right now are not committed by Brahmins, instead they are committed by other castes


This is also something that both parties have completely failed on and are showing no improvements at -- they are perfectly willing to let casteism and caste atrocities skate by if they are committed by a key votebank, and this is why most caste atrocities in TN right now are committed by 3 very politically dominant castes.

Now I'd say DMK's ideology is mostly just anti BJP and anti North India, and ADMK's ideology is anti-DMK. 

We need a new Dravidian party that actually tries to dedicate itself to eliminating casteism, tackling the root cause, and being honest and not corrupt. Reducing the prestige of Brahmins and reservations are clearly not enough on their own, something else must be done.

ADMK is just a pro-establishment, populist, conservative mainstream party. Just opposite to DMK. DMK is progressive and anti-establishment party. It may not be radical or as progressive as one may ideally want, but it is the best viable option in that space.

Actually it does not matter. Congress, DMK, ADMK they all governed the state much better than most of the other indian states. With DMK and ADMK, nepotism and corruption has increased, but yet things get done. BJP will be similar as far as governance is concerned.

Vijay's political entry is worse than even Kamal's  political entry. at least Kamal had a strategy and he was visible on the crowd, was doing some social things over the last two- three decades. Let's roll back 14 years, it was 2011 - DMK was almost decimated in the state election, spectre of 2G on their head, party head was too old but for optics can't say he is retired, almost a big chance of infighting between siblings..

Come 2014, both DMK and National party absolutely destroyed in the election, one of the worst performances in the last 3 decades or so..

Come 2016, another assembly defeat, cloud of doubt hanging over the party leader.. The ruling party was strong and almost unbeatable..

If DMK can survive the above upheaval , ADMK can also survive - EPS successfully completed the full term, removed OPS despite him being close to BJP, removed Sasikala and her coteire from ADMK , successfully overcame TTV challenge.. 

Having said that, I don't think ADMK will vanish but the 2026 election is crucial, atleast 90 - 100 seats needed even if not coming to power..

ADMK has absolutely no marketing presence at all. I haven't seen any relevant news about them in last couple weeks and there are also no ADMK it cell members at all -- I have literally never seen one.

Additionally, there is nothing that they can really point to in their last term to say "that is what you will get if you vote for me again". They are only riding off of JJ's popularity which is also slowly waning.

The only thing they can really do now is play the caste equation, but they are failing at even that with the expulsion of OPS and Sasikala. I don't know whether Nainar will be enough to consolidate the South TN OBC vote.

ADMK needs a massive image makeover to appeal to younger generation, there are many voters now who were teenagers during JJ's final term. And MGR voters are slowly fading away as well. 

Without this rebranding I think ADMK was going to die off anyway, BJP or not. But BJP will just accelerate this, BJP in general had less appeal amongst a large part of the TN youth and Nainar just makes that worse.

The only hope for ADMK right now is to join TVK to get increased appeal amongst youth, their current strategy of OBC caste consolidation will not work as planned. TN politics is genuinely screwed imo, DMK absolutely cannot become monopoly. Otherwise it will be like 2006-11 except 10x worse. The only reason they seem better this term is because they just came back from 10 years of anti-incumbency.

We have never seen a DMK government go two terms in a row since the 1980s, if they do this now I genuinely fear we will go into Mamta levels of governance. But ADMK is not marketing  at all, it might be over.

I think that as decades go on admk would become much weaker because they don't have a strong , charismatic party uniting leader and the top elite in admk don't listen to party members wishes and opinion any more . My personal opinion, Both are going to lose Both party doesn't have face value to market. BJP changed Annamalai who gained significant popularity in social. at this stagge BJP will gain some vote share of ADMK. But Modis leadership or 
face value is not gonna workout . so eventually both are fade away. I think TVK if did planned will survive and become opposition party one day and eventually to rule one day. 

There are RATION scam and TANGEDCO tender scam and so on by DMK, admk as a opposition didnt even bring that to people. so they dont deserve that. let them

To be frank, it's all based on the ADMK's agenda. Party leader and followers should stay true to that agenda. Seems it's long gone. EPS is only focusing on securing his  leader position and keeping the party in control.
